My year-end review

The New Year is almost upon us and I am excited for it. 2017 was…okay. A lot to be thankful for, sure, but just a ton of craziness that I can’t wait to put behind.

2017 was undoubtedly a good year, hobby-wise, though. Assembled below is a recap of my year in wrestling autographs:

January:

My first meet of 2017 was with Tara, formerly known as Victoria in the WWE. She was incredibly nice and signed a trio of programs (Two TNA programs and WrestleMania XX program). Check out the report posted on Marked Out here.

A short time later, I was back at the Universe to meet Vader. This meet happened during a particularly uncertain time in Vader’s life due to his health. Here’s hoping that Vader’s 2018 is filled with nothing but good health.

I ended 2017 by attending a NWA Big Apple show in Hackensack, NJ. Meets included ManuL.A. SmoothRodney MackBruce Tharpe, and Rob Conway. Click here more details on what I had signed (sorry, Photo Bucket deleted the pictures)

February

February began with spontaneous meets at an NXT house show in Asbury Park, NJ. I didn’t post an official report anywhere – laziness! – but I did meet Swayer FultonRobbie BrooksideEmber MoonOney Lorcan, Angelo Dawkins, and D.Y.I.

I also met Ryan Shamrock at the Wrestling Universe

February ended with a ton of cool meets at Evolve #79 at the famous Club LaBoom. Meets included ACHCandy CartwrightKeith LeeZack Sabre Jr.Jason KincaidChris Dickinson, and Fred Yehi. Full report can be found here

March

The month of March wouldn’t be complete without a Big Event! Check out the full report here

Later that day was ROH’s Manhattan Mayhem featured a number of meetsWill OspreaySilas YoungDragon Lee, and the Broken Hardys. Wild story there that you can check out here.

April

This was another Wrestling Universe signing — this time with Rhythm and Blues, XPW’s SupremeSami Callihan, and Pentagon Jr. Report (minus photos) can be found here

May

May featured another ROH show at the Hammerstein: War of the Worlds. This was another meet and greet with several stars of New Japan Pro Wrestling. This was also my first and only chance to get Adam Cole (Bay-Bay!) before he made the jump to NXT. You can read a report here

June

Another June, another LOTR. Full report can be found here but, once again, Photo Bucket did a tremendous heel turn and deleted my photos

July

The 7th month of 2017 saw me meet a familiar face: Mick Foley. I had Foley sign a ton of stuff and we had a fun conversation about Dave Meltzer’s infamous star ratings! Check it out here

The Wrestling Universe held another signing and brought in the iconic Stan Hansen. As he was signing my AJPW ’91 Tag League program, he noted that this travel companion wrestled in the tournament as Sunny Beach, who also signed my program. Talk about luck! Report can be found here

August

This CRAZY month started with multiple meets at the Evolve/PROGRESS double-shot. I scored a great photo op with the British Strong Style, Jack Gallagher, and others. Check it out here

I also met Becky Lynch, who was cool as can be. Report can be found here. I would also meet Paul Heyman, Jim Ross, and Jinder Mahal but never posted an official report anywhere because of laziness. Whoops.

September

Nada!

October

Another October, another Legends of the Ring — one of the more calmer Legends of all time despite featuring a ton of rare guests like Dory Funk Jr. Check out the report here

November

Squid!

December

I closed out December with another Ring of Honor show meet and greet: Final Battle. This was a pretty low-key meet and greet but fun and the report can be found here

And that’s it! I hope you enjoyed the recap! I hope you all had a great 2017 and a better 2018.
