Lunchtime Read: Day of Extreme

When the Day of Extreme was initially announced, I was pretty excited because Mikey Whipwreck, Big Sal, 911, Tommy Rich, New Jack, and Justin Credible would all be first meets for me. I was absolutely determined to go to this.

I arrived to the Wrestling Universe just before 11 AM and immediately spotted fellow MarkedOut board member (and fellow Anthony) Anthony18. He told me that the FBI were signing at the Universe while the other 6 ECW wrestlers were signing at the nearby Comic store. He was also nice enough to hold my spot in line while I purchased 8x10s of Mikey Whipwreck, 911, and the FBI. Greg arrived soon after.

It took about 15 minutes before I made it into the store. Up first was first-time meet “Wildfire” Tommy Rich, who was buried in his cellphone for a few minutes before signing his entry in the WWE Encyclopedia, Vol. III. He wanted to do two photo ops: one holding up my autograph and the other with the “fist” pose. He was a very nice guy and I’m glad to have finally met him after passing on him at a previous Big Event.

Afterward, I waited a few minutes before going into the backroom to meet the FBI (Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke, and Big Sal). I had met Guido twice before, Mamaluke once before, and Big Sal was a first time meet. All three were very nice and I loved the group photo op! Tony jokingly said that he didn’t like how tall I was. There was also a funny moment when Guido was personalizing the 8×10 and Big Sal goes, “There’s no H in Anthony!” and Guido stopped before he realized that Big Sal was dicking with him lmao.

I then made my way over to the Comic store and stood on another decent line. Justin Credible was very late in arriving and it sounded like the majority of people on the line were waiting to meet him. After about 20 minutes of waiting, it was finally my turn and I was a little nervous when I saw that the person in front of me was getting a group photo with Spike/Mikey/911. I decided to ask for individual photo ops with them and, thankfully, they had no issues with that request :score:

Up first was Mikey Whipwreck, a first time meet who couldn’t have been nicer. I’m surprised that he isn’t a convention regular.

Next was Spike Dudley, a second time meet, who signed his entry in the WWE Encyclopedia, Vol. III.

911, another first time meet, was next. He signed an 8×10.

Next was New Jack, another first time meet, who didn’t say a word to me. I had him sign my ECW magazine.

Next was Super Crazy. I met him at Big Event but forgot to get him in his individual entry in the Encyclopedia, which I was kicking myself over, so I was happy to get that done here.

I had to wait for Justin Credible to finish up a smoke break before meeting him for the first time. He signed all four of his entries in the Encyclopedia.

And that was that! $200 superticket for 10 guys, making this $20 combos…too good to pass up. Rich, Credible, New Jack, Mikey, and Big Sal were all first time meets. Credible and Spike are now :virgilized: .

It was good seeing Greg, Ant, and other familiar faces like Chuck that made the waiting go by faster.
